Small Cyclades & Amorgos

Next destination is Schoinousa island. Another untouched island of the Small Cyclades yet again a beautiful scenery for amazing vacation. The island has emerged as an alternative destination for relaxing holidays, away from the bright lights. Secluded beaches, wild landscapes, and little traditional settlements create a distressing atmosphere that never fails to captivate visitors.

Today we will sail to the romantic island of Amorgos. One of the most interesting and unique islands not only in Cyclades but all around the world, because of its strange, pure and wild beauty. From the very first time that you step on the island you feel that you have passed through a time hole and you are in the past 50-60 years. Stones and rocks are dominant everywhere with small villages coming to add a white brushwork on the painting. Thousands of small chapels attest to the religiosity of the islanders. A whole day on this island is a beautiful experience which gives you the opportunity to rent a scooter or a car and drive around to see the breathtaking views, monasteries, churches, cliffs, villages, beaches, the Deep Blue movie was made here, as well as for having a day to yourself. Should you need a bank during your holiday you will find one in Katapola in the south. At night we shall go for dinner to one of the villages, where Greek music, wine and good food will await us.

On day 4 we will sail to the Koufonisia. Koufonissia are actually two islands one close to the other, which are made the group of islands that called Small East Cyclades. Here we can swim on the northern part of the island and the amazing Pori beach and have lunch before going to the lovely picturesque port where we can find tavernas, bars and cafes.

The next morning after breakfast, we will set sail for Iraklia, a beautiful untouched island from the Minor Cyclades archipelago, where we can go snorkeling and walk to a cave then at night sample traditional Greek cuisine from grandma’s pans. Iraklia is another tiny island with almost 100 islanders on it. Iraklia is part of the “Small Cyclades” which is worth to be visited especially for those who want to experience tiny, quiet, cute and isolated places, representative of the Greek spirit.

After saying goodbye to the small Cycladic islands, we will sail north to the biggest island of the area. Naxos is one of the best islands in Greece, disposing beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and an amazing port with a castle on its top. Spend the day swimming in Agios Prokopios and head to the port to enjoy Naxos unique cuisine and vibrant nightlife.

Before your return trip you will have the chance to see the picturesque village of Naousa in Paros which is also the party zone of the island. Before heading back to Parikia make a stop and swim in Kolimbithres or Monastiri beach and then sail back to Parikia full of fantastic images that will last forever.
