Itinerary
Day 1: Kos Marina - Pserimos (2h)
On the first day of our trip we will leave from Kos Marina at 17:00 and we will sail north to the small island of Pserimos. We will arrive before the sunset and we will have some time for our first swimming stop and then we will berth in the port of the island. There is waiting for us a local fisherman with a tavern on the beach in order to serve us his fresh fishes for dinner.
Day 2: Pserimos - Agia Marina Leros (3h)
Today will will sail northwest to the island of Leros. We suggest Vromolithos beach as a stop for swimming and Agia Marina as the place where you will spend your night. Agia Marina is one of the main towns of Leros with a harbor which is picturesque with many traditional houses and even some mansions extending up the hillside. Right at the entrance to the harbor is the Byzantine fortress of Bourtzi, you will also find a castle which is built at the top of the hill offering fantastic panoramic views.
Day 3: Agia Marina Leros - Lipsi (2.5h)
Οn day 3 we will visit the island of Lipsoi with a first stop for swimming snorkeling at Makronisi, a rock located in the middle of the Aegean Sea. Depending on the weather conditions we will sail to Aspronisi which could be one of the best highlights of our trip with the crystal clear water and the white rocks. Otherwise we will choose the beautiful southern beaches of the island. Late in the afternoon we will head to the port of Lipsoi in order to find an available spot and to spend our night in a local restaurant drinking some local wine and trying the Aegean recipes.
Day 4: Lipsoi - Patmos (2.5h)
After saying goodbye to the special island of Lipsoi, we will sail to Patmos which is an island with a strong spiritual character and is also known as the “Island of the apocalypse”. According to the tradition, Saint John the Divine was inspired to write the Book of the Apocalypse inside a cave in Patmos Greece. Today, the so-called “Cave of the Apocalypse” is one of the island’s main attractions. There’s also a large monastery dedicated to Saint John above Chora, the island’s capital. Due to its spiritual character, the island plays host to many religious festivals and feasts, which are a perfect opportunity for travelers to introduce themselves to the tradition and history of Patmos. The sandy beach of Meloi will be our choice for swimming.
Day 5: Patmos - Leros (3.5h)
Day 6: Leros - Vathi Kalymnos (2.5h)
Today we will continue our route heading south at the island of Kalymnos and the town Vathi. Vathi is located in the middle of a mountainous site with the settlement stretching up the slopes of two hills. The surrounding area has a relatively arid feel about it with vegitation being sparse. The picturesque port is filled with local fishing boats and a few day trip boats which serve some of the popular tourist destinations in the area. There are a few tavernas and shops scattered around the village. Also, for the more extreme ones, Kalymnos island has worthily been established as one of the major climbing destinations in the world, so if you are not afraid of heights you could try something like that.
Day 7: Vathi Kalymnos - Plati - Kos Marina (2.5h)
Our last day of our trip we will visit the last destination which is the islet Plati, a place with scarce rock formations crystal clear waters and an amazing landscape. In the afternoon we will be back to Kos Marina where after the check-out process, we will have the chance to meet better the nightlife and the amazing lifestyle of the island. The Castle of the Knights of Saint John, on the eastern side of the harbor is worth a visit. Alternatively the center of the town is home to a huge range of restaurants, tavernas, cafes and shops. Those of you looking for a big last evening, there is a wide range of bars and nightclubs to choose from.
